South West Sounds Events
In 2017 South West Sounds organised a few events, and hope to organise more in 2018.
Freedom Celebration was a beyondblue fundraiser at The Loft in October 2017, with Folk Musicians from the area performing for the fundraiser, Likely Celts, Gabby Steel, Bronson and Tina, Bruce Campbell Collective, and Fiona Kershaw with band, the organiser for her Freedom Album- 20th year anniversary release with 9 bonus tracks on the album.
South West Sounds organised a mini tour for Australian Singer Songwriter Neil Murray, a wind down tour weekend in his home area, Warrnambool, to Portland to Macarthur, a circuit over a Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Jordon Hill and Ishor Gurung joined Fiona Kershaw as support acts, all local musicians/songwriters from the area. Neil has a supportive following in the area and people were very happy he came to perform in their home towns, he hadn't made it back to in years, being so busy with Australian and International tour dates.
South West Sounds did not organise St Brigid's Blues and Roots Festival, Brendan Dowd is behind that amazing second festival in 2018, however South West Sounds helped with photo and video promotions and sharing the event around, getting the word out there about this amazing festival featuring local Independent singer/songwriters and bands from South West Victoria whom came to perform, and raise money for The Mens Shed in Crossley and St Brigid's. Tom Richardson, Kayla Dwyer, Fiona and Shar Kershaw duo, Jessica Skye, Don Cowling, Swamp Apostles, Blue Sunday Blues Band, The Monaros, Dave Burgess Band, Lee sonny boy Morgan, Brett Clarke,The Hog Stompin Zydegators, Lost in Suburbia, to name a few !
Gypsy Spelling from Double Bass Tattoo in Warrnambool designed the shirt and logo for St.Brigid's Blues and Roots Festival 2018 in Crossley VIC.
