Fleur Wiber

Fleur Wiber grew up in Macedon, Vic, but has a long association with South West Victoria. Her grandparents farmed in Hamilton and Fleur spent every Summer with her family in Port Fairy before moving to the area recently. Describing her music as "Mermaid Country", the sea and scenery of the area provide inspiration for Fleur, who creates a dreamy landscape in her songwriting.

When Fleur set out to earn her Honours in Fine Art ,at the Victorian College of Arts,  she had no idea she would wind up as a Singer-songwriter. Not only did she earn her honours degree, but it was First Class Honours and the world won another fabulous song-writer.

Since studying Art, and songwriting, Fleur has traveled and had some wonderful experiences to write about, she did her first Sydney gig at Explicit Manor and got a band together and released her first EP "Orderves" in 2013. From there the floodgates burst open with Fleur getting involved in many music activities as she could in Sydney. After this Fleur headed to England on a working visa, she ended up gigging everywhere, London, Cambridge, Brighton, Manchester, and even made it up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to perform, she found such an appreciation for singer-songwriters there.

Fleur has been a bit of a traveling gypsy songwriter, and this certainly brings inspiration to her music, though born in Country Victoria, (Australia), Fleur and her family moved around a fair bit, and perhaps this is why she has an urge to be a Nomadic Gypsy. Many more places Fleur has performed at include have been at many Melbourne venues and places of Art, and House concerts. New Jersey (USA), Gulgong, Broken Hill, Bangkok and Myanmar, recently she performed at The Gaslight Cafe in Kuala Lumpur and the Noise Market in Bangkok. Fleur hopes to make it to Nashville soon !
Fleur now lives in Port Fairy and teaches Chinese students English on-line. Fleur hopes to perform around the area soon, at all the venues the South West area has to offer, and get to know other musicians and singer/songwriters based here too.
