Gabby Steel

Gabby Steel, award winning Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist from Warrnambool in South West Victoria, whom is also a talented musician of many instruments, she started piano in 2009, Guitar a year later and wrote her first song, and has written 30-40 songs since. Gabby also plays the ukulele, drums and trumpet, and hopes to keep expanding her musical knowledge and skills, and aspires to become a qualified music teacher, as she loves watching people learn and find their passions.

Gabby is 18 and a year 12 student, and leads a busy life fitting in gigs, teaching vocals, guitar and piano, and winning competitions in the area. Awards include - Danny boy, Koroit Irish Festival 2018, Youth achiever of the year Arts and Cultural section 2016 and 2017, -Beks Bowman Encouragement Award 2018, Port Fairy Folk Festival Junior busker winner 2017, Port Fairy Talent Competition 2nd place, and 1st place in Aus Music Festival, Aus Tribute songs competition 1st January 2018.

Gabby has performed at many venues in South West Victoria, including The Stump, Port Fairy, The Cally Hotel and The Loft in Warrnambool, The Warrnambool Art Gallery for The Bush Fire Relief Concert, Songwriters Showcase by Aus Music Festival, The Flying Horse, The Koroit Irish Festival, Warrnambool Masquerade Ball, Purnim 150 year Anniversary Celebration supporting Archie Roach, Wunta Fiesta, Simon's Waterfront and Raffertys in Warrnambool and many more gigs. Gabby has created her own unique style, using percussive instruments and a range of guitar strumming techniques to get you tapping your feet, and her repertoire covers a range of music from modern hits to the old classics to sing along with her beautiful strong voice.

Gabby writes songs about many social issues we face today, with clear vocals and emotion far beyond her years, reflective and thoughtful songs, with passion and honesty, South West Sounds is really looking forward to hearing her first EP she is currently recording, as many of her fans in the South West are patiently waiting for too !
