Interview with Hidden Intent
Interview with Chris McEwen - Bassist/ Singer/ Songwriter with Hidden Intent
Adelaide Thrash Metal Band - with Fiona Kershaw promoter for South West Sounds Aus Blog.
"Hey Chris, since our last interview in March 2020 Hidden Intent have released an album and toured many places in Australia and over to Tasmania ... How's the success of your album 'Dead End Destiny' been since its release ?"
"G'Day Fi!" "It's been a great reception, probably the best reaction globally in terms of streams, merch sales and overall vibe, can't complain ! Overall we feel like we finally got our own unique sound on this album and got the best mix we could ask for. I'm bloody stoked we've done it all independently this time round too!"
"I've been following your tour dates the past year on Facebook, you've managed to get a few live gigs in around Australia during covid times, what have been some highlights at the gigs for you all?'
"Tassy was an absolute blast minus the fire scare haha (close call). We've never been there so since we can't play overseas we figured we'd play off the mainland to feel like we were kinda 'overseas'. Playing Odinfest in Brisbane was also another massive highlight, it was our first interstate show in ages so you could feel the anticipation on stage. "
"Cheers heaps for joining us on Patreon Fi! Means a lot. We're looking into doing some live streams of us rehearsing so you can get a feel for the band behind the scenes. I also want to up my game with my wanker diaries episodes as well and get creative with that. We also have a full set of us playing in Japan so we're looking into getting that edited for our Patreon members to view."
"It's been great to watch your success on line, and I am sure I will get to a concert soon when you can all make it back over to Victoria ! I'm sure Froth & Fury Festival in Adelaide coming up in October will be a successful weekend, the line-up of bands is outstanding ! What are your thoughts about this festival?"
"We can't wait for Froth & Fury, such a diverse lineup especially day two which has some wider genres covered, it's a great chance for other crowds in different scenes in Adelaide to unite and see what else is out there. I hope the festival goes ahead and I can't wait to smash some frothies!"
